UPDATE: Storm bumps Lewiston inaugural until Tuesday
LEWISTON — Plans for Lewiston’s inaugural ceremony is scheduled to continue Monday, in spite of rainy storm and cold settling into central Maine.
The Lewiston City Clerk’s office confirmed that as of noon Monday, preparations are continuing for the 7 p.m. ceremony and swearing of the oaths of office for Lewiston’s Mayor, City Council and School Committee members elected in November.
Maine Gov. Paul LePage will join the ceremony and is scheduled to make remarks after the offiicals and taken their oaths.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the center, 46 Cedar St.
Lewiston Mayor Robert Macdonald will take the oath of office for his second term. Councilors include Ward 1’s Leslie Dubois, Ward 2’s Don D’Auteauil, Ward 3’s Nate Libby, Ward 4’s Doreen Christ, Ward 5’s Kristen Cloutier, Ward 6’s Mark Cayer and Ward 7’s Michael Lachance.
School Committee members are Ward 1’s Linda Scott, Ward 2’s Paul St. Pierre, Ward 3’s Trinh Burpee, Ward 4’s Jim Handy, Ward 5’s Jama Mohamed, Ward 6’s Matthew Roy and Ward 7’s Tom Shannon.
