1925 – 2014
AUBURN — Henri R. Bernier, 88, of 8 Merton Blvd., Lewiston, died Saturday evening, Jan. 4, at the Androscoggin Hospice House, following a short illness.
He was born in Lewiston on Sept. 13, 1925, the son of the late Joseph and Laura (Tanguay) Bernier, and was a resident of this community all of his life. He was employed for many years at the Bates Mill, until his retirement.
Henri was an avid lover of all animals. He was seen and known for riding his bicycle, primarily on River Road in Lewiston, until his passing.
He is survived by one brother, Lionel Bernier and his wife, Louise, of Lewiston; one sister, Yvette Labranche of Augusta; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Jeannette Poulin, Sister Solange Bernier, Raymond Bernier, Antoinette Bertrand, Pauline Bolduc and Maurice Bernier.
