PORTLAND (AP) — A Dresden man has been sentenced to more than two years behind bars for robbing a Bath pharmacy in June.

Federal prosecutors said 23-year-old Nicholas Alexander was also sentenced Wednesday to three years of probation for his role in the robbery of the State Road Walgreens. He pleaded guilty last September.

Authorities said he walked into the drugstore and handed a note to a pharmacist demanding oxycodone and threating to “blow your … brains out.”

He got away with more than 1,000 pills and was tracked down to a Wiscasset hotel. Authorities said he used some of the pills and sold some others.

He blamed his drug addiction for his actions.
