PORTLAND (AP) — A man charged with killing his girlfriend and leaving her body in an SUV in a hotel parking lot in Portland is scheduled to face trial in March.

Anthony Pratt Jr.’s murder trial was set for March 7 at a court hearing Thursday at which his defense lawyers argued that statements he made to police before his arrest should be dismissed as evidence.

The Portland Press Herald (http://bit.ly/1aMC1Y5 ) reported that the judge did not immediately rule.

The 20-year-old New York City man is being held without bail after pleading not guilty to fatally shooting Marguerita Fisenko Scott in the neck in November 2012. Her body was discovered two months later.

Scott was married but was having an affair with Pratt.

Pratt’s lawyers said there’s evidence that someone else killed Scott.
