FARMINGTON — The Farmington Police Department has received a Speed Enforcement Grant issued by the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety.

This grant will provide up to $10,000 to assign specific details focusing enforcement on speed related traffic violations. The primary goal of this program is to increase police efforts at reducing speed related crashes on our roadways.

Farmington Police recently started the details and intend to conduct approximately 70 details by the end of September.

Should you have any speed related complaints, you are asked to contact Sgt. Edward Hastings of the Farmington Police Department.

The Farmington officers will try to address speed-related problems throughout the community in an effort to promote a feeling of safety for the people within the Town of Farmington.

The department “would like to thank the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety for this grant opportunity and we look forward at helping to make the highways in Farmington safer,” Police Chief Jack Peck said in a release.
