LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing is offering a free intimacy and sexuality workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. “Intimacy and Sexuality: How has Cancer Affected this Part of Your Life?” will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Dempsey Center, 29 Lowell St.
Have things changed between you and your partner since a cancer diagnosis? Would you like to learn to be less self-conscious and more interested in being intimate with your partner? If so, this presentation is for you. Presented by Theresa Beaudette, LCSW, ACHP-SW, oncology counselor.
This is the second of a six-part series, “Living Well with and Beyond Cancer,” designed to help people better understand and cope with cancer’s impact on mind, body and spirit. Participants may sign up for individual sessions, which include Fighting Fatigue (Jan. 30), Self-care and Effective Communication (Feb. 6), Cancer and the Spirit (Feb. 13) and The New Normal (Feb. 20).
