1940 – 2014

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. — Roland Albert Jacques, a resident of Zephyrhills, Fla., died at his home on Sunday, Jan. 5, with his partner of 22 years, Joanne Lucier, by his side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Rumford on Aug. 31, 1940, the son of Eugene and Yvonne Jacques. He spent most of his life in Maine and lived in Florida for the past 12 years.

He is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Shirley Jacques (Radcliffe); sons, Roland Albert Jacques Jr. and Marcia Chaisson of Mexico, Michael Jacques and wife, Amanda Jacques, of Mexico and Norman Jacques of Rumford; stepson, Ed Caderette and wife, Diane, of Vermont; daughter, Rhonda Belanger and husband, Roger, of Rumford; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Jacques and wife, Sharon; sisters, Pauline Sargeant and husband, Clayton, and Jackie Cote; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Jacques, of Florida; and parents, Eugene and Yvonne Jacques of Rumford.
