JAY — The Daughters of Isabella Circle 677 from St. Rose of Lima held their first business meeting of the new year on Jan. 8. The meeting was called to order by Vice Regent Annette Melanson.

Chancellor Laurieann Castonguay lead everyone in the recitation of the rosary. A ceremony of Draping of the Charter was held for deceased members Patricia Larochelle and Anita Marchetti.

Recording secretary Jackie Castonguay said the roll call of officers, Rita Crowley sat in for absent Karen Daniels, and Maryette Castonguay sat in for Amy Ouellette-Newman.

Next Castonguay read the minutes of the November business meeting. Thank-you cards were received from the family of Anita Marchetti, from Rosemary Poulson and from Tri-Town. Christmas cards were received from Jan Lauzier, Mary Moulton, Irene Hebert and Rosemary Poulson. A letter was received from Smart Robotics team. There were no new applications for membership.

Scribe Kim Couture reported that she had put articles in the newspapers of the November business meeting, the mass for the deceased members of the Daughters and also the Knights with a supper held after the mass 2013. Couture also reported that she put an article in the papers of the Daughters Christmas Party 2013.

Regent Rodzen read a letter received from International about the International Convention that will be held Aug. 3-6 in Toronto. Any Daughter interested in going should get in touch with Rodzen for information.

The Daughters’ baked bean supper will be held on April 5 at the parish hall. The souper bowl of caring will be held on Feb. 2 at both masses.

Get-well cards were sent in November to Jeanne Ouellette, Irene Hebert, Marie Lucarelli and Doris Simoneau. Thank-you cards were sent to Connie St. Pierre and Andre Castonguay. A sympathy card was sent to Jeanne Williams, while “thinking of you” cards went to Florance Cronkite and Ken and Dot Morgan. In December, get-well cards were sent to Jackie Dosie Smith and Peggy Jacques, and asympathy card to the family of Patricia Larochelle.
