BRUNSWICK — It took some doing, but Edward Little found a way to pull away from Brunswick and sneak off with a 64-54 victory in a boys’ basketball game Wednesday night.

The Red Eddies (7-5) 35-33 lead at halftime and the game would remain tight the rest of the way.

Andrew Middleton threw in the team-high 16 points for the Red Eddies Lou Jensen helped out with his 12 points and pulled down nine rebounds and Luke Sterling was EL’s playmaker, making five assists and scoring 10 points. Kaleb Maine scored 13 points and Elijah Roe added 10 points.

For the Dragons (7-5), Blake Gordon scored the game-high 18 points and Devin Deveauroux had 10.

Yarmouth 77, Gray-NG 42

GRAY — Dave Murphy threw in the team-high 18 points, Adam LaBrie added 12, and Cody Cook helped out with 10 as Yarmouth landed on Gray-New Gloucester with a 77-42 victory in a boys’ basketball game Wednesday.

The Clippers sailed out to a 37-21 lead at halftime before exploding with another 22 points in the third quarter.

For the Patriots (2-9), Andreas Kariotis scored 18 points.

OOB 75, Buckfield 40

BUCKFIELD — Joey Gildard paced the Old Orchard Beach Seagulls with 20 points in the 75-40 victory over Buckfield in boys’ basketball.

Evan Christensen also had a double-digit night for the Seagulls with 16 points, nine of them from behind the arch. Eric Hogan chipped in with 10 points.

Jared Eastman scored half of the Bucks points. He had three 3-pointers of his own.

Buckfield falls to 3-7 on the season and Old Orchard Beach improves to 9-2.

Lisbon 52, Madison 51

MADISON — Jacob Johnston nailed a clean layup at the buzzer as Lisbon edged Madison 52-51 in a MVC nail-biter Wednesday evening.

Tucker Brannon led the Greyhounds (7-5) with 18 points, while Johnson finished with 12.

The Bulldogs (5-6) were paced by Jared Miller with 14 points, while Derek Leblanc tallied 12 and Dustin West added eight. Madison took the lead briefly in the third frame but lost control as the game drew to a close.

Dirigo 77, Mountain Valley 35

DIXFIELD — After jumping out to a commanding 13-point advantage in the first frame, Dirigo raced away to notch a 77-35 victory over Mountain Valley in a MVC boys’ tilt Wednesday.

Riley Robinson led the powerhouse Cougars (9-1) with 33 points, highlighted by 14-of-17 from the foul line. Tyler Frost chipped in with 14 points and seven assists, while Clay Swett added nine points.

The struggling Falcons (1-9) were paced by Caleb Gauvin with nine points, while Andrew Cote and Brad Marshall each added eight.

Carrabec 64, Mt. Abram 38

NORTH ANSON — John Layman led a trio of players in double figures Wednesday as Carrabec hustled to a 64-38 rout over Mt. Abram in another MVC boys’ basketball matchup.

Layman led the Cobras with 15 points, while Troy Dunphy tallied 13 and Levi Murray added 10.

The Roadrunners were paced by Jake Davenport and Dan Luce with nine points each, while Soloman Fast added eight.

Boothbay 75, Oak Hill 30

WALES — Boothbay wasted little time showing its offensive prowess Wednesday, racing away to post a 75-30 romp over Oak Hill in another KVAC boys’ matchup.

John Hepburn led the Seahawks (10-1) with a game-high 30 points, while Julian Aponte chipped in with 10.

The Raiders (3-7) were led by Jonah Martin with a solid 14-point performance, while Drew Gamage added five.

St. Dom’s 8, Biddeford 0

BIDDEFORD — St. Dom’s put four goals on the board in the first period and kept up the pressure throughout, skating away to post an 8-0 win over Biddeford in mid-season hockey action Wednesday.

Chase Hainey led the Saints (5-3-1) with a pair of goals, while Mitch Lorenz, Caleb Labrie, Mike Richard, Austin Roy, Cam Stewart also tallied to complete the scoring.

Zak Roy stopped all 18 shots fired his way to preserve the shutout.

Gray-NG/Poland 2, Lake Region 1

AUBURN — Ethan Cailler netted a goal with two minutes left in the second period to give Gray-New Gloucester a 2-1 victory over Lake Region in a boys’ hockey tilt Wednesday.

Mason LaPlante gave Lake Region (2-5) a 1-0 lead just 10 seconds into the first period. Caleb Bridgham answered for the Patriotic Knights (3-5) with assists from Cailler and Jason Cote.

Nick Hemond made 21 saves for GNG/Poland, while David Long turned aside 42 shots between the pipes for Lake Region.

OOB 67, Buckfield 38

BUCKFIELD — After sprinting out to a 15-point advantage in the first frame, Old Orchard Beach raced away to post a 67-38 rout over Buckfield in a EWC girls’ basketball tilt Wednesday.

Abby Dubois led Old Orchard with 17 points, while Peyton Feitz tallied 15 and Kelsey Custeau added 14 in a well-balanced attack.

The Bucks (2-10) were paced by Brianna Damon with 11 points, highlighted by nine from the foul line. Gabby Therriault chipped in with 10 points, while Nadia Wesley added four.

St. Dom’s 49, Winthrop 18

AUBURN — Kelly Pomerleau and Faith Grady each poured a dozen points into the net Wednesday as St. Dom’s easily outgunned Winthrop 49-18 in a KVAC girls’ matchup.

The Saints (10-2) jumped out to a 12-0 advantage in the first frame and were never challenged.

The winless Ramblers (0-13) were led by Corinna Coulton with five points, while Alyssa Arsenault added four.

Lewiston 4, Winslow 0

WINSLOW — Makaela Field netted a pair of goals Wednesday as Lewiston skated to a 4-0 victory over Winslow in KVAC girls’ hockey action.

Sam Cote and Emily Turner also tallied for the Blue Devils (10-2-1) to complete the scoring.
