BRISTOL, Maine (AP) — The Coast Guard is searching near Bristol, Maine, after getting a report about of people in the water and a possible boat in distress.
The Coast Guard says a helicopter and vessels on water were actively searching Friday morning.
Petty Officer Matthew Couling said the search began with a 911 call followed by a report over a radio frequency used by mariners.
He said the initial search revealed no debris indicating a vessel had gone down, but the search was continuing near Pemaquid Point.
