JAY — Spruce Mountain High School has announced upcoming events to keep local people informed of what’s happening at the school.
There will be no school on Monday, Jan. 20, in observance of the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Spruce Mountain High School students will have mid-term exams on Tuesday, Jan. 21, through Friday, Jan. 24.
Tuesday exams will be Black periods 3 & 4; Wednesday, Green period 3 & 4; Thursday, Black periods 1 & 2; and Friday, Green periods 1 & 2.
Students must stay in school all day on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday and Friday exams will take place in the morning and will be done by 11 a.m. If students have parental permission, they may leave early on these two days. Permission forms have been distributed to each student to bring home. Students who stay in school these days will have a study hall in the cafeteria. Buses will transport them home at the usual time.
The Guidance Office is offering FAFSA help for parents. They are available to help with any questions about filling out the form. Call 897-4336, ext. 405, to set up an appointment.

Monday, Jan. 20, alpine ski meet at Mt. Abram Ski Area, 9:30 a.m.
Friday, Jan. 24, V boys basketball/V girls basketball H vs Boothbay, boys at 5:30, girls at 7.
Friday, Jan. 24, alpine ski meet at Titcomb Mountain, 4 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 25, Nordic ski meet at Black Mountain “Sassi Memorial,” 11 a.m.
