Voting is something students learn about in school. We learn what voting is and the history of voting rights.

If students who are 17 years old were able to vote, I believe they would pay more attention in class to voting rights and take voting a little more serious.

Besides, what is the difference between 17- and 18-year-olds? There is no magic light bulb turning on at 18 that should give people the right to vote.

Why do adults make rules? I am not saying kids should make all the rules or any at all. I am saying that kids should have a say in what goes on. As it is, all the kids do is inherit the problems of the older generation.

I understand that older people think we are young and not educated enough, but we are not dumb. We actually know what goes on. We have been learning about the government since the fifth grade, the same as older generations.

If we are all going through the same education process, then what is the difference between me and older people?
