1951 – 2014

AUBURN — Roberta J. Russell, 62, a resident of Jay, died peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 19, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin.

She was born Feb. 10, 1951, in Portland, the daughter of Robert Russell and Vivian (Robinson) Russell. She attended school in Portland. Roberta worked as a certified nursing assistant at several facilities in the Southern Maine area. She enjoyed going to Oxford Casino, playing bingo, traveling, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her best friend and caretaker, Marilyn Mitchell and her companion, Robert Morgan, of Jay; her son, Frank Russell and his wife, Stephanie, of Poland; two daughters and their husbands, Cathie and John Friel of Lewiston, and Leona and Kevin Freeman of Florida; her sister, Helen Hall and her husband, James, of Gray; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Wendy Russell of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Ernest Russell.
