Special Olympic kick-off dinner, auction

JAY — A Special Olympic kick-off dinner and auction will be held Saturday, Jan. 25 at Amvets Hall, Main Street. Dinner will be served from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and the auction will be at 6:15.

Menu is roast pork, mashed potatoes, green beans, meatballs, ziti, fish chowder, turkey soup, baked beans, rolls and butter, and desserts.

Keep Me Warm Supper is Feb. 1

FAYETTE — The next Keep Me Warm Supper will be held on Saturday Feb 1, at the Fayette School from 4.30 to 6.pm. Please come and join us for some great food , music and raffles. All-you-can-eat public breakfast

KINGFIELD — An all-you-can-eat public breakfast will be held from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at Kingfield United Methodist Church, 51 High St.

Menu will include scrambled eggs, French toast, pancakes, bacon, sausage, homefries, sausage gravy with biscuit, muffins, assorted juices, coffee and tea. Cost is $5  for adults, $3 for children. A family rate is available.

Winter fly-in set for Feb. 1

OQUOSSOC — Bald Mountain Camps Resort will hold its annual Winter Fly In on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 125 Bald Mountain Road.

There will be a safety seminar on Friday.

Events on Saturday include spot landing, formation flight, take off contest, bomb the target. Prizes will be given.

Plane, helicopter and hot air balloon rides will be available.

Cary Library Winter Book Sale

WAYNE — Cary Memorial Library will hold its Winter Book Sale at the Williams House, 14 Old Winthrop Road, across from the library. This is one of the library’s two giant annual sales, with four rooms filled from floor to ceiling with gently used books. There will also be DVDs and CDs.

The sale is open on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 3, from 9 to 1, and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 4-6, from 3 to 6. On Saturday, Feb. 8, from 9 a.m. to noon, books will be sold for $1 a bag.

Wilton Fire holding bean supper

WILTON — A bean supper will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Wilton Fire Station.

Items to be served include beans, hot dogs, cole slaw, rolls, beverages and brownies. The cost is $ 7 for adults and $3 for children under the age of 12.

This is to benefit the Wilton Fire Benevolence Association.
