GORHAM, N.H. — Rose Philippon, 98, of Gorham, N.H., died on Monday, Jan. 20.

She was born in Connor on April 12, 1915, a daughter of Oneil and Odelie (Cote) Dubay, and grew up in the Caribou-Connor area. Prior to and during World War II, she worked in the Biddeford and Portland areas and was also a welder on Liberty ships at the Portland shipyards. She moved to Gorham, N.H., in 1947, and was a member of Holy Family Church in Gorham.

Family includes a son, Charles Philippon, of Bowie, Md.; a daughter, Mary Gendron, of Gorham, N.H.; two grandchildren; siblings, Annette Bloom of Newington, Conn., Lena Richards of Newington, Conn., and Blanche Dubay (Sister Mary Regis) of Chicago, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roger Alphonse Philippon.
