1938 – 2014

LEWISTON — Irma J. LeBlond, 75, a loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday evening, Jan. 21, at Central Maine Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family after a battle with lung cancer and pneumonia.

Irma was born in Caribou on Aug. 4, 1938, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnson. Irma spent most of her adult life in Dixfield, working at Diamond Match and subsequently at area restaurants, before she met and married her husband of 27 years, Lee. Shortly thereafter, she went to work for Bridge Construction with Lee for more than nine years, until retirement.

Irma’s hobbies included knitting, cooking, bird-watching, gardening and collecting glass. She also enjoyed going to country music festivals and car shows with her husband, Lee, where they both made numerous friends in their travels through the years.

She is survived by her husband, Lorenzo “Lee” LeBlond of Livermore Falls; three sons, Theodore Howes, Hollis Harper Howes and Dennis Howes of Jay; three stepchildren, Gerard LeBlond and wife, Barbara, of Livermore Falls, Lawrence LeBlond and wife, Celeste, of Jay and Laurie Hill and husband, Michael, of Prince George, Va.; as well as four step-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Sissy.

Irma will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
