AUBURN — Edward Little stayed ahead by a few points during the third quarter and then ran to 12-point lead as the Red Eddies earned a 67-55 victory over Brewer in boys’ basketball on Friday.

Andrew Middleton led EL. in scoring with 18 points, while Llewellyn Jensen tallied 15. Kaleb Main and Elijah Roe gathered 12 points each for the Red Eddies as they improve to 8-6.

Sophomore Logan Rogerson topped all Brewer scorers with 18 points, while Brendan Newcomb netted 11 for the Witches (4-10).

Brunswick 55, Lewiston 29

LEWISTON — Senior Blake Gordon tossed in a game-high 21 points, eight from the charity line, as Brunswick rolled to a 55-29 triumph over Lewiston in boys’ KVAC basketball action on Friday.

Ryan Black paced the Dragons (9-4) with 10 points on the night. Gordon and Black sunk five 3-pointers combined to keep the fire going on offense.

Senior center Carlos Gonzalez accounted for more than half of the Blue Devils scoring with an impressive 16 points, as they fall to 5-10 on the season.

Bangor 67, Mt. Blue 28

FARMINGTON — Alex Campbell led a balanced scoring effort with 13 points as Bangor cruised to a 67-28 victory over Mt. Blue in boys’ basketball action on Friday.

Bangor utilized seven players to score over six points and net a total of 13 3-pointers as a team. Connor Adams paced the Rams with 10 points, as they improve to 10-4 on the season.

For Mt. Blue (2-12), Zack Middlestadt and Drew Parsons led the scoring with eight apiece.

Valley 67, Rangeley 38

BINGHAM — Valley went on a 24-4 tear in the third frame and raced away to post a 67-38 win over Rangley in an EWC tilt Friday evening.

Dylan Belanger led Valley with 13 points, while Collin Miller tallied 11 and Cody Lawyerson added nine.

The Lakers (2-12) were paced by Timothy White with a solid 14-point performance.

Dirigo 78, St. Dom’s 63

DIXFIELD — Riley Robinson poured 31 points, pulled down eight rebounds and made five assists to lead Dirigo to a 78-63 rout of St. Dom’s in KVAC boys’ action Friday.

Dylan Kidder excelled as the only senior on the Cougars’ (13-1) squad, scoring 18 points and hauling in nine rebounds.

The Saints (4-11) were paced by Mike Bryant with 15 points, while Madison Jalbert and Matt Dyer each added 14.

Girls’ basketball

Oak Hill 72, Lisbon 39

LISBON FALLS — Oak Hill jumped out to a 43-7 halftime lead and denied the late-game rally as the Raiders rolled to a 72-39 victory over Lisbon in girls’ MVC basketball action on Friday night.

Brianna Mulherin sunk an impressive 16 points for Oak Hill (11-3). Sadie Goulet gathered 11 points for the Raiders, while Danielle Samson netted nine.

The Greyhounds (5-7) outscored the Raiders by three in the second half, with a scoring drive headed by Mikayla Yanez and Adrianna White, who recorded 10 and nine points, respectively.

Rangeley 53, Valley 43

BINGHAM — Taylor Esty was one rebound short of a double-double, draining a game-high 18 points as Rangeley made a late comeback to top Valley 53-43 in girls’ basketball action on Friday.

Down four points heading into the final quarter of play, Rangeley’s offense caught on fire to score 23 points and secure the victory. Sophomore Blayke Morin grabbed seven boards to go along with 14 points to pace the Lakers (13-1). Maddie Egan created a lot of opportunities with a team high six assists and six steals.

Teagan Laweryson and Dalayne Davis rounded out the scoring for Valley with 14 and 13 points respectively.

Wiscasset 39, Monmouth 33

MONMOUTH — Alecia Faulkingham dropped in a team-high 13 points, as Wiscasset topped Monmouth 39-33 in girls’ MVC basketball on Friday night.

Briana Goud kept pace for the Wolverines with 10 points, as they jump to 4-11 on the season. Goud and Faulkingham got a lot of their work done from the charity line with four and three free throws respectively.

Kylie Kemp recorded 14 points in the effort for Monmouth, which falls to 9-6.

Edward Little 73, Brewer 37

AUBURN — Molly Murray ignited an 18-9 run in the third quarter that allowed Edward Little to run away to a 73-37 rout of Brewer in a late-season KVAC matchup Friday.

Murray tallied 11 of her 13 total points in that key third frame. Kory Norcross and Brooke Reynolds led the Red Eddies (14-1) with 15 points each, while Emily Jacques added 10.

Courtney Pierson and Megan Libby led Brewer (1-12) with 12 points apiece, while Maddy Bailey chipped in with 11.

Carrabec 52, Mt. Abram 22

SALEM — Kate Stevens led a pair of players in double figures Friday evening as Carrabec hustled to a 52-22 romp over Mt. Abram in more MVC girls’ hoops action.

Stevens led the Cobras (11-3) with 16 points, while Jessica Vaillancourt chipped in with 14. Carrabec held a 27-11 lead at the half and kept up the pressure throughout.

Mt. Abram (1-13) was paced by Alex Harnden with a solid seven-point effort, while Keely Marble chipped in with five.

Spruce Mountain 57, Boothbay 42

JAY — Spruce Mountain built a sizable nine-point advantage in the first half and raced away to post a 57-42 victory over Boothbay in another MVC battle Friday night.

Nicole Hamblin led the undefeated Phoenix (14-0) with 17 points, the only player in double figures.

The Seahawks (6-9) were led by Morgan Crocker with a game-high 31 points.

Brunswick 53, Lewiston 39

BRUNSWICK — Brunswick saved some gas for the closing minutes, using a 14-5 run in the fourth frame to post a 53-39 win over Lewiston in a KVAC tilt Friday.

Lyse Henshaw led the Dragons with 22 points, while Julia Champagne chipped in with 16.

The Blue Devils were paced by Jenessa Talarico with 15 points, while Brie Wilson chipped in with 10.
