CANTON — Alice Mae Bean, 92, of Hancock Street, Rumford, was welcomed into Heaven on Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Victorian Villa.
She was born in Catawissa, Pa., on Dec. 3, 1921, and was the daughter of Rodman E. and Alice Gertrude (Walter) Tilley. She graduated from Catawissa High School, Class of 1939, and from Central Penn Business College in Harrisburg, Pa.
Alice Mae was a member of Mt. Zircon Chapter No. 142, O.E.S. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, word puzzles and playing cards. She had a special love for animals, especially cats and birds. She was a member of the Lutheran faith and loved traveling back to Pennsylvania to visit with her family.
Her greatest love was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Always a coffee in hand and a smile on her face, and was a connoisseur of candy. She had a very generous heart and was always willing to help anyone in their time of need. She will be greatly missed by the ones closest to her.
