1921 – 2014
AUBURN — Clifford M. Eisner, 92, a resident of Turner, died peacefully on Friday, Jan. 24, at the Androscoggin Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Sept. 21, 1921, in Oakland, Nova Scotia, the son of Angus L. Eisner and Sarah Jane (Mayo) Eisner. He was a graduate of Dedham, Mass., High School. Clifford received a Bronze Star while serving in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European theater. On Sept. 6, 1942, in Bellingham, Mass., he married Marion Robertson of Hopedale, Mass.; she passed away in 1985.
Clifford worked at Draper Loom Manufacturing in Hopedale, Mass., which later became Rockwell International, retiring in 1980. After his retirement, he worked for several years at Simtram. Clifford was a member of the American Legion in Medway, Mass. He enjoyed fishing, camping, canoeing and woodworking.
He is survived by two sons, Clifford L. Eisner Sr. and his wife, Beverly, of Henniker, N.H., and William Eisner and his wife, Helen, of Townsend, Mass.; two daughters, Nancy Reed and her husband, Kenneth, of Lunenburg, Mass., and Gloria Bryant and her husband, Dale, of Turner; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and his brother, LeRoy Eisner and his wife, Joan, of Winder, Ga.
He was predeceased by his sister, Viola Miller; his grandson, Clifford L. Eisner Jr.; and his companion, Violette Edwards.
