AUGUSTA (AP) — A 30-year-old Maine man has pleaded not guilty to murder in the fatal stabbing of a Waterville man who he said had molested him as a boy.

The Vassalboro man was arrested Nov. 22 after he called police to report the body of an unnamed man was in his driveway.

The suspect was charged with stabbing 69-year-old Thomas A. Namer of Waterville. Namer’s remains were found outside an abandoned trailer next to the suspect’s home.

The Kennebec Journal reports that the suspect later told police he stabbed Namer after the older man made a sexual advance.

He said he had known Namer for years and had been molested by him when he was 11.

The Associated Press does not identify people who say they are victims of sexual abuse.
