While fried chicken wings and snacks galore will be feasted on this weekend, residents have two less choices for game-day fare  as local icon Shaner’s announced the long-rumored sale of their restaurant and the Norway Trolley House closed its doors.

Businesses aren’t the only ones wishing a quick end to the winter gloom: The DEP is on the hunt for 1,900 gallons of oil that leaked below the school and into neighboring wetlands. Officials are hampered in their clean-up efforts by snow and ice and say  they won’t be able to remove the oil until spring.

Ice seems to be on everyone’s mind – except, from Norway’s point of view, that of neighbors in Paris. Norway Selectmen say they’ve been shouldering the cleanup burden for the jointly shared Solid Waste Facility road, and haven’t been able to convince their counterparts to put their plow to the ground.

Communication isn’t the only thing broken in Norway; a few window’s at the Odd Fellow’s building shattered and the rest have been boarded up.
