1966 – 2014
RUMFORD — Daniel Lavorgna, 47, died Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Rumford Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident.
Born in Rumford, on Sept. 14, 1966, he was a son of Anthony and Gloria (Arsenault) Lavorgna. He was a graduate of Mexico High School and Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute with a master manipulator of molten metals degree.
He was a master welder by every measure, tinkerer extraordinaire, and loved his many motorcycles, snowmobiles and his smoker craft boat. He was voted No. 1 Papa for 20 consecutive years. He was an avid outdoorsman, Danny fished and hunted. He was a world class chef of all cuisines and his dad’s best friend.
He is survives by his son, Sabin James of Lewiston; daughter, Holly Joe of Lewiston; his former wife, Jennifer Dolloff of Peru; his father, Anthony Lavorgna of Mexico; brothers, Dale and his wife, Catherine, of Mexico, David and his companion, Audrey Bedard, of Gorham, N.H., Joe and his wife, Pattie, of Alaska, Eddie of Mexico,; a sister, Paris White and her husband, Larry, of Plymouth; and many nieces, nephews and countless friends near and far, especially PEI, Canada.
