LEWISTON — Three police detectives responded to a report of a robbery at the Rainbow Credit Union on Main Street just after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Police were searching for a suspect described as a white male in a black jacket. Police also checked the bank’s surveillance tapes and brought in a tracking dog to aid with the search.
At 4:30 p.m., police were tracking the dog down College Street and a sign in the bank’s window announced it was “closed due to robbery.”
Less than a week ago, the nearby Community Credit Union on Pine Street was the site of a robbery. There had been no arrest in that case.
