Snow will blanket the area Wednesday with a daylong storm dropping up to 14 inches at the coast and to the south, the National Weather Service said.

Winter storm warnings were posted throughout much of New Hampshire and into Maine for Lewiston, Rumford, Farmington, Norway and Augusta, as well as the entire coastline.

Snow is expected to arrive Wednesday morning with moderate to occasionally heavy periods throughout the day, especially from mid-morning through mid-afternoon.

The National Weather Service reported Tuesday night that anticipated snowfall along the coast would total 10 to 14 inches before tapering off in the evening.

The Lewiston-Auburn area should expect to see 6 to 10 inches with amounts tapering off the further inland you go. The Rumford area to Farmington can expect to see between 4 and 8 inches.

The next chance of snow is Sunday night into Monday.
