1920 – 2014
KOKOMO, Ind. — Dorothy Pettengill, 93, formerly of Leeds, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Kindred Nursing Home in Indiana.
She was born in Rangeley on Feb. 3, 1920, daughter of John Mainard Nutting and Teresa Gavin Nutting. Dorothy was a member of the Monmouth and Auburn Jehovah’s Witnesses, and enjoyed gardening and homemaking. She was a nurses’ assistant at Central Maine Medical Center.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice, Susan and Mary; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers; one sister; and her husband, James Pettengill.
