POLAND — The Town Manager Search Committee escorted Bradley Plante, the second of the two finalists for the position, around town Thursday.

Plante, the town manager in Hampstead, Md., was flown in Wednesday and, as Selectman Janice Kimball explained, the committee wasn’t going to let a little snow interfere with afternoon meetings with department heads and employees, and a meet and greet in the early evening with residents.

Kimball said the day went off as scheduled, even though only three residents were able to make it to the meet and greet at the Town Office.

On Tuesday, the search committee introduced the other finalist, Linda-Jean Briggs, until recently the town manager in Dexter, in similar fashion.

Following the meet and greet Thursday evening, the search committee met privately with Plante and then met to discuss the two candidates.

Kimball said she expected the Board of Selectmen will announce the name of the new town manager at its meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, in the Town Office conference room.
