RUMFORD — With assistance from East Coast Marketing Group Inc. of Westbrook, the Rumford Professional Firefighters Local 1601 are conducting local fundraising for a March comedy show.
“We are inviting local businesses to sponsor an ad in our Emergency Response Program Booklet, to be distributed at our big event, Night of Laughs Comedy Show, Deputy Chief Richard Coulombe said in a news release.
The show will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at the Mountain Valley High School Auditorium.
Coulombe said Local 1601 wants to alert the public and business owners that the show and fundraising efforts are legitimate and not a scam.
This mature audience show will feature three of the best stand-up comedians from Boston who have appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “Late Show with David Letterman” and at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, he said.
Coulombe said he didn’t know which comedians would perform at the show.
“Everyone who helps with sponsorship will receive an official receipt and complimentary tickets to the show,” he said.
Proceeds go to Local 1601 and various charitable community activities sponsored throughout the year.
For more information, contact Coulombe at 364-2901.
