AUGUSTA (AP) — An Augusta man has been sentenced to spend two years in prison after pleading guilty to robbing two city pharmacies in 2012.

The Kennebec Journal (http://bit.ly/1mvtEe9) reported that Michael Pierce pleaded guilty to the state charges on Wednesday in Kennebec County Superior Court, a day after pleading guilty to federal drug charges. His state and federal sentences will run at the same time.

Prosecutors said the 33-year-old Pierce was involved in robberies at two separate CVS pharmacies in Augusta in May 2012 and June 2012.

In both cases, the robber wore a disguise and used a note threatening to shoot pharmacy employees if they didn’t give him oxycodone.

His defense attorney indicted that Pierce has the support of his family.
