NORWAY—The longtime brunch baristas at Cafe Nomad are extending their hours to offer a full diner menu featuring classic dishes.

The restaurant is extending their hours Friday and Saturday nights until 10 p.m. to offer a full menu of soups, salads, and home-cooked favorites, including French-American fusion poutine, drenched in gravy and french fries.

‘I wanted to start with a bunch of stuff I knew I could cook very well, that would taste really good, and not be too out of the ordinary for everybody. I was going for classic food done right,’ Co-owner and chef Kim Hamlin said.

Though the downtown Norway cafe has resisted fans’ calls for years to extend their hours and menu, Hamlin said staff were ready to grant their patron’s wishes – or at least their hunger.

‘Honestly, it has to do with people coming to us, asking us to do this,’ she said.

Hamlin, who co-owns the restaurant with Scott Berk, said the cafe will soon begin offering draft micro-brewed beer to complement its growing selection of bottles.

‘I’ve always wanted to be able to eat past nine [p.m.]. I like being able to get food and beer past nine, and I’m going to stay open late to make sure that happens,’ she laughed.
