1944 – 2014

AUBURN — Geraldine D. “Dean” Ouellette, 69, a resident of Pond Crest Lane on Taylor Pond in Auburn, died early Monday morning, Feb. 24, at the Hospice House following a brief illness, with her daughter, Doreen, by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 23, 1944, the daughter of Gerard and Marybelle (Farrell) Roy. She attended St. Louis Grammar School and was a 1962 graduate of Edward Little High School.

While attending Edward Little High School, she served as a cheerleader and it was while cheering at the arena in Lewiston that her future husband, Bert, who was an opposing St. Dominic’s goal tender, noticed those beautiful signature blue eyes. Those opposing high school hockey games at the arena led to their marriage on April 24, 1965.

Prior to her retirement, Geraldine was a beautician. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren, at Taylor Pond.

Survivors include her husband, Bert, of Auburn; a daughter, Doreen St. Laurent and husband, Gary; two sons, Carl Ouellette and wife, Dottie, and Kenneth Ouellette, all of Lewiston; and her brothers and sisters, Donna MacDonald of Garden Grove, Calif., Regis Roy and wife, Anita, of Auburn, Geraldine’s twin brother, Michael Roy, of Auburn and Celeste McNees and husband, Charles, of Orange Park Acres, Calif. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Jill, Jessamyn, Kade, Mikaela, Cole, Zachary and Nathan.
