PARIS — A woman reported missing in late January has been located, and an investigation into the case is now closed, according to the Paris Police Department.

Shirley Mills, 44, of Paris Hill contacted Detective Sgt. Jeff Lange on Saturday evening and said she is well and staying with friends, but did not want any more information released, police Chief Michael Madden said in a news release Monday.

Mills was reported missing Jan. 24, after she failed to return to her Paris home after being released Acadia Hospital in Bangor.

At the time, Madden said the hospital arranged a taxicab to take Mills to her home, but home-care providers reported to police that she never arrived.

According to Madden, the missing person report has been cancelled and the investigation is closed.
