LEWISTON — Ida A. Caron, 81, of Apple Rd., Lewiston, died Tuesday, March 4, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Lewiston on Dec. 2, 1932, a daughter of the late George and Mable Smith. She worked for many years at Bates Mill and later for Geiger Bros.

She enjoyed playing bingo, camping, her lobster and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a great cook and enjoyed hosting holiday family get-togethers.

She leaves her husband of 51 years, Alphonse Caron of Lewiston; her three children, Mary Roy of Auburn, Joseph Bailey and wife, Dot, of Mechanic Falls and Margaret Howard and husband, Joseph, of Lewiston; two stepdaughters, Pauline and Terry Caron; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
