LIVERMORE FALLS — The Memorial Day Parade Committee again is looking for donations to purchase liability insurance for this year’s parade.

The parade has marched from Jay to Livermore Falls for decades.

Livermore Falls Town Manager Kristal Flagg said she received an email from committee member Don Simoneau informing her of the need for insurance. The cost is $650.

Selectmen voted in May 2013 to donate $200 for its share. At the time, parade organizers said they would approach Livermore and Jay as well.

After the article appeared in the Sun Journal, Verso Paper in Jay stepped up to pay for the insurance.

If not enough donations are received, it is most likely the issue will come back to the towns for consideration, Flagg said.

Donations may be made by check to: Memorial Day Committee, care of Diane Getz, 17 Reynolds Ave., Livermore Falls, ME 04254.
