1920 – 2014

VESTAL, N.Y. — Noella M. Paradis, 94, formerly of Lewiston, died Sunday afternoon, March 2, at the Willow Point Nursing Home in Vestal, N.Y., with her family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Feb. 20, 1920, the daughter of Joseph and Delina (Larochelle) Paradis and sister to George and Norman Paradis. Noella grew up in Berlin, N.H., where she graduated from high school in 1938. She returned to Lewiston with her parents in 1960 to pursue a career as a beautician.

Noella worked many years as a beautician for Provencher Beauty Salon in Lewiston, where she developed a long following of loyal customers until her retirement. Among her favorite enjoyments were downhill skiing, golf, knitting, going for summertime day trips and rides with her girlfriends, visiting her niece and nephew and their families in New York state and special times with her family and friends.

She was a loving, devoted and hard-working aunt who will be dearly missed.

She leaves nieces, Gilda Paradis Fake, Gloria Chabot and husband, Ronald, Elaine Sylvester and husband, Robert, Denice Whicher and husband, Robert, Claudette Martel and husband, William; and nephew, Gregory Paradis and his wife, Helen. Noella is also survived by grandnieces, Sarah Paradis and husband, William, Erin Paradis, Lauren Fake-Fling and husband, Tony; grandnephew, Adam Fake and fiancée, Kendra McDonald; and several cousins and her close friends with whom she shared so many good times.

She was predeceased by her parents and brothers.
