1922 – 2014

AUBURN — Mary A. Perry, 92, a lifelong resident of Jay, died Wednesday evening, March 5, at the Androscoggin Hospice House.

She was born in Jay on Jan. 22, 1922, a daughter of Arthur and Georgina (Gallant) Boucher, and graduated from Jay schools. On Nov. 25, 1939, she married Roderick J. Perry at St. Rose of Lima in Jay.

Mary worked as a loving homemaker to her family for the majority of her life. As a young woman, she did work outside of the home for of a couple of years at Norwock Shoe in North Jay.

She was a member of the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post No. 3335 Ladies’ Auxiliary and enjoyed playing cribbage at the post with her husband. She also participated in a bowling league in Jay, and enjoyed playing golf, winters in Florida for 15 years with her husband and recent trips to the Oxford Casino.

Mary is survived by her son, Albert Perry and his wife, Janet, of Littleton, N.H.; five grandchildren, Karen Boutin and her husband, Arthur Jr., of Lisbon, N.H., Kimberly Hutchins and her companion, Harold Pratt, of Dexter, Jennifer McVetty and her husband, AJ, of Littleton, N.H., Roderick Small and his wife, Mary, of Jay and Julia Small of Skowhegan; six great-grandchildren, Valerie Crump, Jackson and Steven Hutchins and Dustin, Ryan and Andrew Small; three great-great-grandsons, Logan Crump and William and Andrew Hutchins; and two sisters, Margaret Marcotte of Jay and Dorothy Noyes of Wilton.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rod, on June 8, 2012; a daughter, Sandra Small, on July 31, 1996; and siblings, Frank Boucher, Aurelie Frye and Wilfred and Robert Boucher.
