JAY —  Spruce Mountain High School recently held a student assembly to honor its January Student of the Month and Phoenix Award winner. A Good Citizen Award was also presented by representatives of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Lydia Violette-Lee, daughter of Brian Lee and Heather Violette, was chosen as Student of the Month.

The Phoenix Award winner was Heather Castonguay, daughter of Eileen and Robert Castonguay.

Ian Jewett was named as the DAR Good Citizen award recipient. The winner was chosen by the school faculty. Ian is the son of Barbara and Eric Jewett and resides in Fayette. He is planning to attend the University of Maine at Orono, studying secondary education in history.
