FARMINGTON — Farmington-based photographer Alana Ranney of Alana’s Fine Art Photography recently attended the Maine Professional Photographers Association photographic competition in Brunswick and won several awards. 

Ranney received the Maine Fellowship Award and the Masterpiece Creative Imaging Award for her art work. She was also awarded four blue ribbons, three red ribbons, and one white ribbon for her photography. The Maine Professional Photographers Association annual print competition is held once a year.

Ranney has been in business since 2001 and moved to Farmington in 2010. She operates a boutique portrait studio and specializes in family, newborn and pet photography. She also photographs a limited number of weddings each year. She enjoys hiking, camping and photographing the beautiful nature and landscapes of Maine.
