1922 – 2014

AUBURN — Evelyn L. Eaton, 91, formerly of Virginia Beach, Va., died on Sunday, March 9, at Clover Health Care, with her family by her side following a long illness.

She was born in Columbia, N.C., on Oct. 24, 1922, the daughter of the late Joshua W. and Della (Swindell) Furlough. She married Linwood R. Eaton on Oct. 7, 1948; he died on Aug. 4, 2005.

Evelyn was a member of the Daughters of Confederacy and the Izaak Walton League of America, and a very active member of her church, the London Bridge Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Va.

She enjoyed taking care of others, gardening and her fellowship with her friends and her beloved family. Her generous spirit never met a stranger and there was always room for one more at her table.

She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Wysocki, of Sabattus; four grandchildren, Jessica Wysocki Collins of Auburn, Adam Wysocki of Greene, Sarah Wysocki of Auburn and Joseph Wysocki of Greene; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

The family wishes to thank the staff at both Clover Health Care and the Hospice House for the wonderful care, love and support given to Evelyn over the years.
