1955 – 2014

HANOVER — Arland Richard Burgess Jr., 58, of Penley Street, Mexico, died on Friday, March 14, in Hanover, as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Born in Rumford on Nov. 11, 1955, he was a son of Arland and Eva May (Turbide) Burgess. He was a graduate of Mexico High School, Class of 1974. He loved his family very much and was a very proud grandpa.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved playing the guitar and was known for being a jokester and making others laugh. He was a proud member of the Eagles Club. Rick worked at SWB in Jay for 10 years and at Sunday River for 5 years driving the trolley.

He is survived by his mother, Eva May Burgess of Mexico; the love of his life, Heidi Heath, of Rumford; siblings, James Burgess and wife, Susie, of Mexico, Sharon Burgess and significant other, Tom, of Mexico, Robin Burgess and significant other, Bill, of Stewartstown, Vt., Matthew Burgess and wife, Sharon, of Mexico, Torrey Burgess and wife, Julie, of Mexico; his children, Amy Burgess of Mexico, Rick Burgess of Mexico and their mother, Deborah DeRoche, of Roxbury, Brian Glover of Dixfield and Heather Burgess of Mexico; grandchildren, Britney, Tiarah, Phoenix, Cassidy, Levi, Carlee, Trenton, Tessah and Blake; as well as many nieces and nephews; and especially Mike Dubem, who was like a son.

He was predeceased by his father, Arland Richard Burgess Sr.
