NORWAY — Longtime SAD 17 director Don Gouin and Selectman Bill Damon said they will run for re-election at the June 10 annual elections.

Nomination papers are available Monday, March 17, for five positions. They are for a school board member, two selectmen and two Norway Memorial Library trustees.

“We’ve accomplished a lot of things,” Gouin said of his nine terms on the school board.

He first ran in 1987 and said he is looking forward to serving another three years.

“The most important thing to me personally is the friendships I’ve made,” he said.

Damon is seeking another three-year term as well.

“I’ve lived in Norway all my life. I enjoy putting in some information and the number of great people I’ve worked with,” he said.

He was first elected in 1987 and, with the exception of several years, has served on the board since then.

Selectman Warren Sessions, a two-term member, is up for re-election. Sessions could not be reached for comment on his plans.

The terms of library trustees Christopher Miller and Patricia Brophy expire in June.

Nomination papers must have at least 25 but not more than 100 signatures of Norway registered voters and be returned to the Town Office by April 28.
