LEWISTON — Starting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20, Maine Microcinema will host a selection of work produced by Maine-based directors featured in the Bluestocking Film Series at She Doesn’t Like Guthries, Middle St. The mission of the Bluestocking Film Series is to encourage and promote production by filmmakers of narratives built upon strong, complex female protagonists. These are characters who are as fully-developed, heroic, complex, and flawed as their male counterparts. Blue Stocking selects cutting-edge and provocative films that explore women’s relationships with one another. Select works will include “Mom is Dead and I’m Broke,” “Happy Motoring,” and “Face It.” For more information, visit www.guthriesplace.com.
