1954 – 2014

CANTON — In loving memory of Deborah Jean Johnson Ulmer, born at Rumford Hospital on May 29, 1954, to parents Beatrice Johnson and Hubert “Jughead” Johnson. She was fighting leukemia and unexpectedly died of a heart attack on Thursday, March 13, around 5 p.m. at her home in Canton.

Deborah enjoyed spending time with her devoted husband of 23 years, Donald Ulmer. She loved all animals, and frequently took in strays and injured animals to care for them; she adored her horse, Chance. She loved the outdoors and took pride in delivering newspapers every morning for 12 years.

Deborah worked at various place all her life. She worked for Decoster Egg Farms while going to school, as well as Bass Shoe of Auburn and General Electric for 25 years, until she got hurt. She graduated from Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute. She also went to school in Dixfield and achieved her high school diploma.

She loved children and spending time with Johnathan and Tamarra. She will be greatly missed by family and friends for her giving and caring nature.

Deborah leaves a son, Arthur Lee Murray III; her other son, David Craig Johnson, also recently passed away at the age of 41. Other survivors are her brothers and sisters, Paula Couture, John and Vie Johnson, Richard and Nora Johnson, Felicia and Rick Gammon, Dottie Gilbert, Daryl and Debbie Ann Johnson and Niaomi and the late Steven Johnson; niece, Angela Johnson and her children, Eli, Brittney and Alesha Johnson; nephews, Jeremy Gilbert and Aaron Prue; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Johnathan Jackson, Tamarra Morgan, Aiden Johnson, Alliyah Edwards and Tyler Gammon.
