DANFORTH (AP) — Maine officials are investigating the death of a 5-month-old baby and a subsequent fire that destroyed the family’s mobile home in Danforth.
Mach-Danyel Richardson was pronounced dead Friday morning at a Danforth medical facility after being brought there by the parents.
WZON-AM reports the infant’s mother called police Friday morning saying her child was dead. Shortly after, she called again to report her house was on fire.
The cause of the Mach-Danyel’s death is not known, but police say it is not believed to be connected to the fire.
An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday. State police investigate all deaths of children under the age of three.
