1931 – 2014
AUBURN — Pauline M. Poussard, 82, a resident of Centre Road in Wales, died Friday, March 21, at the Hospice House in Auburn surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on East Road in Wales to Frank C. and Tessie Ridlon Maxwell on April 14, 1931. Pauline attended school in Wales, as well as Lewiston High School. On June 15, 1950, Pauline and Noel F. Poussard were married. They were married for 50 years; Noel passed away in 2000.
She worked at local shoe shops, before working at Oak Hill High School in the kitchen for 19 years, retiring in 1995. Pauline was a member of the Wales Grange, Wales Presbyterian Church and Order of the Eastern Star, Lakeside Chapter No. 60.
Pauline enjoyed camping, fresh water and ice fishing and sitting by the brook, listening to the birds singing and the water rippling. She enjoyed every Tuesday with her sisters, Pearle; Norma and her husband, Dale; and her brother, Norman and his wife, Shirley, who was like a sister to her. Thursday night was family night for Randy, Roger and Muriel, and anyone else who wanted to show up. Al Siderio showed up one night and it was a big surprise; he always called her Mom.
She is survived by two sons, Roland and Mary Jane and David and Denise; four grandchildren, Heidi Giroux and friend, Jared, Frank Poussard and friend, Heather, Brett Poussard and wife, Heather, and Cindy Mae Fennell and husband, Joe; nine great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Annie Giroux, Chase, Sage and Lila Poussard, Walker and Ryleigh Mae Fennell and Sydney and Hannah Crocker; two sisters, Pearle Hall and Norma and Dale Linton; a brother, Norman and wife, Shirley; several nieces and nephews; and Jim and Mark Hall, whom were like a second set of sons to her.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Noel; three sisters, Lillian Burgess, Ruth Wright Burgess and Shirley Skidgell; and a brother, Clifton “Joe” Maxwell.
The family would like to thank the Hospice House staff for all the tender, loving care their mom and they received.
