1956 – 2014

FARMINGTON – Paula Dawn Buchanan, 57, of Farmington, died early Tuesday afternoon, March 25, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Farmington on April 18, 1956, a daughter of Donald “Bucky” and Helen (Adams) Buchanan and grew up in East Wilton. She attended local schools and was a 1974 graduate of Mt. Blue High School.

Paula was a hard-working, goal-oriented woman, who was known by her smile and quick wit. She was an accomplished real estate broker, having been affiliated with Sandy River Realty.

She enjoyed spending time with her children and traveling, and felt at peace at her home and at her beloved camp on Webb Lake in Weld. She was an animal lover, taking great joy in her dogs and cats, as well as watching the deer around her home.

Paula was a proud and devoted mother and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Matthew Moore of Denver, Colo., and Nicole Moore of Deland, Fla.; a sister, Patty Buchanan of California; two brothers, Jamie Buchanan of Minnesota and Billy Buchanan of East Wilton; sister-in-law, Jeannine Backus of East Wilton; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Condolences and tributes as well as a memorial video may be shared on her memorial wall at www.wilesrc.com.
