TURNER — Annie Castonguay of Leeds, a senior at Leavitt Area High School, has been selected to receive the 2013 Principal’s Award, Eben Shaw, principal, has announced. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.
According to her nomination, “During her time here at Leavitt, Annie has established herself as a leader in our school community. Annie has been involved in many activities including field hockey and softball, where she has served as the captain and the National Honor Society. Even with all of her involvement in activities outside the classroom, Annie has maintained the highest academic standards. There is no doubt that her work inside and outside of the classroom has made her an excellent role model for the students of our community and she is very deserving of this recognition.”

Tyler, former Maine principals and executive directors of the Maine Principals’ Association. This year an additional five $1000 scholarships will be presented through the efforts of the MPA Scholarship Golf Tournament and support from Berlin City Auto.
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals and the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
