TURNER — MSAD 52 Adult & Community Education, at 486 Turner Center Road, will hold the following winter/spring lineup of classes that start from April 7-15.
Exploring Microsoft Office: This introductory course is structured to each students the use of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Basic computer skills are strongly recommended.
Bokwa Session 2: This new fitness craze is different. There’s no choreography or counting steps. Simply draw letters and numbers with your feet while moving with others to music in free-form rhythm. If you can move, you can do it. Men and women of all ages can engage in the same class to the same music.
Tumbling Session 2: From Tiny Tots to those with more advanced skills, there’s a class for your tumbler. Youngsters ages 3 to 5 learn basic mat skills in a structured and fun environment. The beginner to advanced courses are perfect for acrobats, cheerleaders, gymnasts and others.
One Stroke Painting: Check out this fun and relaxing style of decorative painting and discover the artist in you. Learn different brush types and basic strokes needed to create a beautiful piece of art.
Psychometry: Explore the ability to hold or touch something and connect with the person who touched it before you. Bring a small one-owner object (picture, keychain, ring) to class.
Brick, Block and Stone Session 2: Gain a new skill in this basic masonry class. Understand plumb level and range. Learn different bonds and mortar mixes and build small walls, archways, veneer stone walls to block. Outside garden barbecue, driveway stone pillars and a brick or stone garden container will also be explored.
Watercolor Paint Party: If you’ve always wanted to try watercolors, sign up for this class and receive step-by-step instructions. Students will take home a 5×7 original masterpiece. No experience is required.
Maine Driving Dynamics: Improve defensive driving awareness and abilities. Take part in discussions of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits, attitudes, and elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine’s highways. Those completing the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record.
New England Youth Baseball Clinic: Coaches from the New England Baseball Camp of Maine will be back to conduct a preseason fundamental Junior Red Sox baseball clinic for little leaguers ages 8-12. Accepting only the first 20 to enroll in each session. Session 1 for 8-10 years old and Session 2 ages 11-12.
Automatic Writing: Learn the basic writing techniques of getting messages from loved ones or spirits who have passed through writing.
