NORWAY — Holy Week at the Second Congregational Church in Norway will be observed with a variety of public events for children, youths and adults. On Palm Sunday, April 13, the church school children will distribute palms during the 10 a.m. service. Music will reflect the traditional excitement of the day.

On Thursday, April 17, children and youths will meet in the church kitchen at 3:30 p.m. to make unleavened bread for a Maundy Thursday potluck soup supper, which will be served in the dining room at 5:30 p.m. A service of Tenebrae and communion will follow in the sanctuary at 6:30. All are welcome to supper and worship.

On Friday, April 18, members and friends of the Second Congregational Church will participate in the Good Friday Walk. It will begin at 1 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Norway and proceed to the First Congregational Church in South Paris. The group will stop at various churches along the route.

On Friday, April 18, at 5 p.m., the public is invited to the monthly free supper at the Second Congregational Church. Spaghetti is on the menu this month.

On Saturday, April 19, the Second Congregational Church will participate in the Norway Easter Fest from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All children are invited for crafts, scavenger hunt and snacks.

Sunday, April 20, concludes Holy Week with the joyous celebration of Easter. The Second Congregational Church will partner with Deering Memorial Methodist Church and the First Congregational Church of South Paris at 6 a.m. for a Sunrise Service at Brimstone Corner, East Oxford Road, South Paris. Attendees can meet in the 1st Church’s parking lot at 6 a.m. to travel together for the service or go directly to the site.

Following the service, breakfast will be served in the dining room of the First Congregational Church, South Paris. At 10 a.m. the Second Congregational Church will conduct a traditional Easter Worship Service in their sanctuary, which will be filled with lilies, spring flowers, beautiful stained glass and joyous music. The nursery will be open for infants and toddlers.
