1926 – 2014

AUBURN — Maurice J. Beaulieu, 87, of Lewiston, died Monday, April 7, at the Androscoggin Hospice House, with his family by his side.

Born in Lewiston on June 9, 1926, a son of Charles and Armoza Duperee Beaulieu, he was educated in Lewiston schools. They spent 16 years wintering in Hallandale, Fla., where they spent time with family and friends.

Maurice was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Cross Church and worked for the Lewiston Public Works Department for 26 years. He retired from Bath Iron Works after 19 years of service.

Maurice enjoyed spending time with family, being outdoors by the pool and in the sun and sharing jokes. He will be remembered for always smiling, never complaining and maintaining a positive attitude.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Madeleine L. Charest of St. Pascal, Quebec, whom he married on June 25, 1955, in Lewiston; a daughter, Diane L. Seguin and husband, Ronald, of Lewiston; his sons, Marc M. and wife, Sandra Beaulieu, of Lewiston and Marcel E. Beaulieu of Lewiston; and his grandchildren, Michelle Cheche and husband, Matthew, Nathan Seguin and wife, Julie, Ryan Beaulieu and fiancée, Courtney Truman, and Leah Seguin.

Maurice was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Lucien and Roger; and sister, Jeannette (Vachon).

The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, especially Dr. Satya Singh, Androscoggin Home Health and Gentiva.
