1934 – 2014

LIVERMORE FALLS — Rita F. Chicoine, 79, a longtime resident of Livermore Falls, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, April 8.

She was born in Livemore on Sept. 30, 1934, a daughter of Emile Paré and Blanche (Judd) Paré Poulin, and attended schools in Livermore Falls. On Sept. 27, 1952, she married Lawrence Chicoine Sr. at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay.

She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church. She also was a member of the Livermore Falls Firemen’s Auxiliary and belonged to the women’s bowling league.

Rita was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s dance recitals and school and sports events. She was very proud of her family and loved hosting Christmas gatherings. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Christopher Dumais Sr. of Livermore and Diane and Forrest Flagg of Fayette; one son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence Jr. and Nancy of Livermore; eight grandchildren, Chris, Heather and Chad Dumais, James and Keith Flagg, Brad Chicoine, Erica (Chicoine) Boudreau and Ross Chicoine; eight great-grandchildren, Jessica, Lily and Haley Dumais, Piper and Gage Chicoine, Kelsey and Caleb Boudreau and Darren Flagg; sisters, Pauline Duguay, Geraldine Richards, Doris Paré, Florence Couture, Jeannine Hebert and Gloria Norton; and brothers, Lawrence Paré and Joey Poulin.

She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Lawrence; great-grandson, Trevor Boudreau; brothers, Paul and Norman Paré and Norman Poulin; and sisters, Louise Bryant, Claudette Deacon and Gertrude Albert.
